GUYANA: Dr. Shamir A. Ally, worked in the private, public and social sectors, then migrated to the USA in 1979 to further education towards a Ph.D.
With a VISION to Evaluation, for EDUCATION, contacted in 2006 Mr. Robert Persaud at Office of the Guyana President, who introduced to University of Guyana’s Dr. Prem Misir and Dr. Marlene Cox.
Author with a very strong belief, that “EDUCATION is PIVOTAL and opens the door to FREEDOM, with a Path to Possibilities” made 8 Donations of 1,458 NEW Textbooks, on the subjects of Accounting, Management, Economics, Project Management, Strategic Management, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Business, Languages, and Health valuing G$19,115,400: (US $95,577:) to UG Library.
At 8th. Donation on May 7, 2015, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Jacob Opadeyi, said, that in recognition as the SINGLE LARGEST DONOR to UG, in its 50 plus, years, “Dr. Shamir Ally Reading Corner” was established.
Dr. Shamir worked very closely for each shipment from New York & Pennsylvania, USA with Dr. Marlene Cox and Mrs. Gwyneth George, AA. (Chief Librarian UG).
